Hey vegan bunnies! Today were going to be making some raw vegan chocolate. When I first started my raw vegan journey I was worried I would never have chocolate again. But then I found out about the cacao plant. Raw cacao or raw chocolate as we may know, has 40 times the antioxidants of blueberries, it’s loaded with iron and magnesium, and contains more calcium than cow’s milk. I also find it to be very stimulating. It gives me energy boosts comparable to coffee or tea in my opinion.

The best part about raw vegan chocolate is how easy it is to make. All you need is 4 simple ingredients to create this candy that melts in your mouth. This also makes for a great treat around Halloween. With all the milk chocolate going around this is a nice substitute to have for vegan and non-vegans alike. Raw vegan chocolate ingredients: 

1 cup melted raw cacao butter (HERE)

1 cup raw cacao powder (HERE)

4 tbsp raw coconut nectar (HERE)

1/2 tsp sea or Himalayan salt

Molds (HERE)


I like to melt my cacao butter in the dehydrator on 115 but you can also do this in the oven at the lowest temperature with the door cracked. But keep in mind this doesn’t ensure that the cacao butter will remain raw.

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend.

Pour into molds and chill in the freezer or fridge.

Store you candies in the fridge to ensure they do not melt any.
